Highway 100 Improvement Project Improves Access to Oldenburg Industrial Park

Construction on the "Highway 100 Improvement Project" began last week, marking a significant step toward enhancing traffic flow and accessibility. The project will widen Highway 100 from Vossbrink Drive to the new entrance of Oldenburg Industrial Park to accommodate growing traffic volumes. A key component of the project is the construction of a new entrance to the park, designed to improve access for businesses and commercial transportation. To boost traffic efficiency and safety, the project will also include 200-foot turn bays in each direction at the new entrance.

This infrastructure upgrade is a proactive step in accommodating the city’s growth, improving transportation efficiency, and fostering economic expansion. The enhancements will provide safer and more convenient access for employees, customers, and freight traffic traveling to and from the Oldenburg Industrial Park.

Local officials emphasized the importance of these improvements in maintaining Washington’s reputation as a business-friendly city. 'This project demonstrates our commitment to supporting local industries, not only by assisting existing businesses but also by creating an environment that will attract new businesses to the region,' said Economic Development Director Aaron Griesheimer.

Construction is expected to be complete by the Fall of 2025.
